HDPE mats, also known as high-density polyethylene ground protection pad, is a temporary pavement and ground protection system made of high-density polyethylene.
Simply put, it is a high-strength, lightweight, and extremely durable engineering plastic pad specifically designed to create temporary passages and work platforms on soft ground, lawns, or sensitive roads to protect the underlying ground and provide safe support.
Core characteristics of HDPE mat:
Excellent strength to weight ratio
High strength: able to withstand extremely heavy loads, such as excavators, crane legs, fully loaded heavy trucks, etc.
Lightweight: Compared to rubber pads and wooden pads, HDPE material is very lightweight. This makes transportation and handling (using forklifts or specialized fixtures) more efficient, significantly saving labor and time costs.
Excellent durability and resistance
Corrosion resistance: It has strong resistance to water, oil, grease, chemicals, and salt, and will not rust or rot. This is particularly important in industrial, chemical, and coastal areas.
UV resistant: High quality HDPE pads are added with UV stabilizers, which can be used outdoors for a long time without becoming fragile or cracking due to sunlight.
Low temperature resistance: It can maintain good flexibility and strength in low temperature environments, and will not become brittle like some materials.
Ground friendly
Distributed load: Its design can widely disperse the concentrated pressure of heavy equipment, prevent ground subsidence, and effectively protect lawns, asphalt, cement floors, and underground facilities.
Surface design: Typically, one side has a deep anti slip texture (providing vehicle traction), while the other side has smaller anti slip studs or flat surfaces (contacting and protecting the ground).
Easy to use and maintain
Easy to connect: Most HDPE pads are equipped with a connection system at the edges (such as "end-to-end connection" or "chain connection"), which can be quickly spliced into a stable continuous channel.
Easy to clean: The surface is smooth and non absorbent, and debris and soil are not easy to adhere. It can be cleaned by rinsing with water or simply scraping.
Recyclable: HDPE itself is a recyclable plastic that meets environmental requirements.
