The advantages of welding water tanks with PP material

High corrosion resistance: PP (polypropylene) is a high-performance engineering plastic that exhibits excellent corrosion resistance to most inorganic acids, alkalis, and salt solutions. This means it is highly suitable for storage:

No rusting issue: Compared to metal water tanks (such as stainless steel and carbon steel), it is completely rust-free, avoiding pollution and tank damage caused by rusting.

2. Excellent hygiene and pollution-free

Non-toxic and odorless: Food-grade PP material meets hygiene standards and is inherently non-toxic and odorless, ensuring no secondary pollution to stored liquids, especially drinking water, food ingredients, and pharmaceutical water.

No algae growth: The opaque tank body can effectively prevent photosynthesis of algae, inhibit the growth of algae and bacteria, and maintain clean water quality.

Smooth inner wall: The inner wall of the PP board is very smooth, making it difficult for scale and microorganisms to adhere, and easy to clean and maintain.

3. High strength and durability

High welding strength: Professional extrusion hot-air welding can integrate the welding rod with the base material, achieving a weld strength of over 90% of the base material's strength, ensuring the overall structural integrity of the water tank.

Anti-aging: High-quality PP boards are usually added with UV stabilizers, ensuring a longer lifespan when used outdoors.

Lightweight yet strong: Although PP has a much lower density than metal, its overall pressure-bearing and deformation-resistant capabilities are excellent through reasonable reinforcement rib design (such as external reinforcement).

4. Good thermal insulation performance

The thermal conductivity of PP material is very low, about 1/200 of that of steel. This means that it is a good insulator in itself. When storing liquids that have temperature requirements, it can effectively reduce the impact of ambient temperature on liquid temperature, achieving a certain degree of heat preservation and energy saving.

5. Flexible installation and easy modification

On-site fabrication: PP boards can be transported in rolls and subsequently cut, assembled, and welded on-site. This enables the fabrication of water tanks with very large volumes or special shapes (such as those required to bypass obstacles), overcoming the transportation limitations of integrally molded water tanks.

Easy to drill and connect: Accessories such as pipe orifices, flanges, and manholes can be flexibly welded at any location according to needs, making future modifications and expansions very convenient.

6. Low maintenance cost and long lifespan

Due to its excellent corrosion resistance, PP water tanks hardly require regular anti-corrosion treatments (such as painting and rubber lining) like metal water tanks do.

If there is local damage, repairing it is very convenient. Simply use the same PP welding rod for welding and repairing. Maintenance is simple and the cost is low.
